MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING 02/2005 PRESENT:  John Romero, Gary Ahlf, Mel Springs, Bill Chase, Ken Hardy, Richard NavarroPRIOR MINUTES- Approved as read- contained in this Tyee Tales.TREASURER’S REPORT- Accepted as read.Port & Boat  No news TYEE FOUNDATION-   Hi Everyone, Well we have done it.  The pens are in the water, we have over 76,000 fish, they are eating well, and we are well on our way to one of the most successful years ever.   Thank you to all who have made this possible.  This was truly a group effort with many people helping at crucial times.  We need people that can commit to filling the feeders and some routine chores.  The feeders are now on the pens themselves, and are adjusted so that we do not have as much waste of food, and it is spread properly to the entire pen.  Members filling feeders will be asked to sweep the decks because there is still a little spill over, b not much. There will be a few other small tasks such as recording the temperature and counting mortality. Additionally we need some help with tools.  Tools at the project have a habit of walking away, or swimming away.  We need to restock with wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers and the like.  I would like to ask every member to bring at least one useful tool to the next meeting.  We do not need junk, but some useful item that we can use at the pens.  For instance, a crescent wrench, or a socket set.  All of us have tools that are duplicates, or that we just don't use anymore.  If you have something better like a cordless drill, or skill saw, even better yet.  We are looking for tools that will help with big bolts and little screws.  It will all help.  We could also use some clean 5 gallon buckets.  Because the feeders are on the pens, feed will have to be carried down the ramp in buckets.  They are always useful with all the things we do down there. I will be asking Smith and Hawkins for a donation of some nice outdoor furniture and be looking for some planters.  It is time we show a little Tyee Pride in the place and make it look nice.  Any ideas, donations, or interest in helping, please give me a call at the Tiburon Salmon Institute office at 415 435 2397.  We are on site at Romberg and happy to hear from you.  We will be having a dedication ceremony in September.  September because we are going to work around Jared Huffman's schedule. (Marin/Sonoma Assembly Person) He is our benefactor with the fish.  We are also going to take the opportunity to thank the Moseley Family for their generosity.  Again thank you for all of your support and work on the project.  Please don't hesitate to give me a call if you have any ideas regarding the project. Tight Lines, and Big Fish,Brooke HalseyTyee Foundation HOUSE:  George Fuchs "Deep Fried Turkey" was no turkey and he did a great job of feeding us last month. Thank You. Next week we will have a surprise chef. NEW BUSINESS-    The Tyee club will be collecting donations at next weeks meeting to purchase raffle tickets on behalf of the San Francisco Tyee Club for the American Fisheries Foundation  Boat Raffle (page 1) this August. If the boat is won by the Tyee Club it will be raffled off by the Tyee Club at an upcoming event. AFF & their Treasure Mark Warner were very helpful  in getting the Tyee Club and Foundations 2008 Pen rearing project up and running and we would like to return the favor.
